Depends. Sometimes we will design custom bed bar sets, mounting plates, and other existing product related work. If what is requested appears to be producible to the masses, we will also consider it. We are a manufacturing shop, not a custom fab shop.

We do! All HMOR products are manufactured in North Idaho, USA. We do nearly all design, prototyping, fabricating, quality control and shipping in-house. By nearly, we mean sometimes we use our local in-town partners to laser cut and CNC form parts used in manufacturing our products. We then inspect every single component, reject what doesn’t meet our strict specs and tolerances, and use those parts to finish the goods we bring to you. Powder coating is outsourced, but also done locally.

We are a small facility where few people wear many hats. Especially that Tim Neil guy! Sometimes we just get busy. Also, we rely on our local business partners for things. Refer to Q#3. Just remember that we are always working as hard and fast as we can. It’s always worth the wait!

Yes! One person can assemble and install a ROCK-IT Rack in as little as 45 minutes with a single 9/16” socket. Assemble on the floor and flip, or assemble and install piece by piece on the vehicle, install hardware and go. All T-slot hardware comes with your rack system. Grade 8 hardware is available for vehicles without a bed mounted T slot rail system.

Being universal in application, these Racks are width adjustable. They can be secured to the OEM bed mounted T slot rails, directly to the top of the bed sides with some drilling, or directly to a premium roll-up style bed cover, such as Retrax or Roll ‘n Lock. All T-slot hardware comes with your rack system. Grade 8 hardware is available for vehicles without a bed mounted T slot rail system.

Yes! The side panels, side bars, and top runners are able to be interchanged, flipped, or swapped. Other modular Rack accessories are currently being developed.

As long as the HMOR and OEM load capacity specs are followed, you will not damage your bed sides or be unsafe.

Great news is this Rack has many built in features for direct mounting of accessories. This eliminates the need for many of the “upsell”  accessory mount products. Still there are some really cool accessories available and coming soon: Grab handles, riser blocks, propane tank mounts, weather resistant cases for gear storage, lighting kits for visibility, Quick Fist clamps and more! Yes! One person can install a set of 3 Bed Bars in as little as 15 minutes with a single 9/16” socket. Just drop them in, space them evenly, install hardware and go. All T-slot hardware comes with your rack system.

Being vehicle specific, they are secured to the OEM bed mounted T slot rails. All T-slot hardware comes with your rack system. We are currently working on a universal mount system for vehicles without a bed mounted T slot rail system.

Yes! Choose the options available on the specific product page. Weld-on tabs for mounting plates, LED lights, Hi-Lift jack, and dog leash are available. Powder coat is available.

No. Even the tall Bed Bars are incredibly sturdy on their own (we use 4 bolts per bar to secure to the bed.) When a roof top tent (RTT) is installed, it acts as 2 full length connecting bars securing all Bed Bars, especially when our RTT Security Clamps are used. That adds a significant amount of stability to an already stable setup. 

As long as the HMOR and OEM load capacity specs are followed, you will not damage your bed sides or be unsafe. If you are really concerned, choose the 3 Bed Bar set instead of the two.

We have our various size Universal Mounting Plates for gear storage, lighting kits for visibility, RTT security clamps that are stronger, safer and more visually appealing than the OEM flat bars, among other things. Check out the Bed Bar Accessories page.
